近日看到一个朋友的帖子，其中给出了一个句子的翻译，中文原文是“她的眼眶里蕴含着一股伤心的泪水”。
在此我不对其译法发表评论，我想要说的是，如果我们要把这样一个句子翻译成英文，或者我们自己在英文写作时要表达“流泪”这样的意思时，该如何表达。
说到落泪，自然而然就会想到tear这个英文单词，但如何正确使用这个词来表达不同程度的落泪，或不同性质的泪，这不是一件很容易做到的事情。
幸亏我们可以借鉴别人的说法。古人说“熟读唐诗三百首，不会吟诗也会偷。”我们自己的大脑或许记不住所看过的小说和文章里面对“落泪”的各种说法，但可以借助词典。
我一向大力推崇《英语搭配大词典》。
该朋友手头没有此词典，希望我把有关的词条抄给他。于是我花了点时间，把有关词条抄录了。从该词条的例句中，我们可以看到“眼眶里噙着泪水”和“伤心的泪水”如何翻译，可以作为自己翻译或写作的参考。
我一向的做法是，不是光从汉英词典查到某个中文对应的英语后就作简单的对应翻译，而是往往还要查看《英语搭配大词典》里面该词的各种搭配用法的例句。
为了使自己的努力不要白费，也为了让更多的年轻朋友能够认识善于正确使用词典和工具书的重要性，我把有关内容整理，并加上以上一段话，单独成帖。希望各位朋友阅后发表意见。
下面是摘抄自《英语搭配大词典》tear词条：

谢谢 wolfberry朋友指正，是本人抄录时的错误，已经在原文改正并说明。
话又说回来，任何词典都会有不足之处。该词典却是也存在不少的问题，在网上搜索就会发现指出纰漏的文章，而且词典需要不断修订。
现在的修订版肯定比我18年前买的要好多了。

第一个句子的“留”字无疑是“流”之误，不知道是原文的blunder还是陈老师的typo。第二个句子的“吧”字显然系“把”字之误。第三个句子这么翻译是否更好一点？她泪水盈眶。欢迎讨论！
