 do,make此二词并非同义词，但有时不容易区分。

(2)

 do 的基本含义是做，进行，它的同义词为perform, accomplish. 一般讲do 的宾语并不十分具体，比如“事情”。而make 的基本含义是“制造，作出”，它的同义词为form, forge, fabricate, manufacture. 一般讲，make 的宾语比较具体。这只是两条规则，在没有办法决定选用哪一个动词时，最好还是查字典。注意下列各句中动词do 的宾语都不太具体。

 do,perform是词义很近的同义词，它们的一般含义是“做”，“干”，“进行”。这两个动词的含义差别在于：do 在口语中用得很频繁，因此就不正式；而perform 在口语中没有do 用得多，只是在书面语或正式的场合才用perform，或者认为某工作很高雅，不可用粗俗的do, 因此这个词正式得多。

 如果把do 换用perform, 就让人家听着很好笑。而The doctor performed an operation on him. 中用perform 表示的operation 不是任何人都可以“做”的。汉语中说“做手术”，“没有什么事可做”，都是“做”字，但英语有讲究。还有，象口语中说“猪”这pig，而“猪肉”就要说pork。因为pig 是农夫饲养的，到了老爷们的餐桌上，就变成了pork. 所谓粗俗的词“不登大雅之堂”
